“On this day, our attention is particularly focused on cadets, on their qualities and talents. Cadets are the core of the military university, they are the goal and mission of our activity, and above all, the future of the professional Polish army" - said the Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology, płk prof. dr hab. inż. Przemysław Wachulak during the ceremony on the occasion of Cadet Day and the celebration of the Military University of Technology.

The ceremony with the participation of the University authorities and academic departments, staff representatives, students and invited guests took place on November 29, 2022 at the Military University of Technology Club.

Referring to the genesis of Cadet Day, related to the beginning of the November Uprising by cadets of the Infantry School in Warsaw, the Rector emphasized that for over 70 years, since 1951, cadets have been creating the history of our University and testifying to our identity, and over the years they have joined the civilian students. "Today, this wonderful community continues the work of its predecessors, building and developing a modern military technical university with its science and work" - said płk prof. dr hab. inż. Przemyslaw Wachulak.

This year's event is celebrated at a time when the Military University of Technology educates almost 3,000 cadets in 12 fields of study, which is almost three times more than a few years ago. "Thanks to the decisions of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense, Mr. Mariusz Błaszczak, to increase the number of the Armed Forces, the limits of admission to officer studies are increasing year by year and already in the next academic year 2023/2024 we will be able to accept almost 1,020 cadets for the first year of studies" - said the Rector.

Behind success are people, specific skills and talents

The Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology emphasized the invaluable role of the scientific and teaching staff, employees and students who are behind the success of our University and thanks to whom the Military University of Technology builds its reputation and is increasingly recognizable and valued in the country and in the world.

Creating relationships with the environment

As emphasized by płk prof. dr hab. inż. Przemysław Wachulak, taking care of relations with institutions that develop similar research areas, the Military University of Technology joined the Quantum Technologies Cluster, which also brings together Polish companies advanced in the field of research and development of quantum devices and technologies. WAT is also a member of the Network of Space Universities providing education and preparing staff in the field of the 5th operational domain - space. As part of the Space Engineering Cluster, of which the Military University of Technology is a co-founder, national competences in the field of exploring and conquering space are being developed.
