
THE COMMAND INSTITUTE
The Command Institute is an organisational unit of the Military University of Land Forces competent to organise and conduct teaching and scientific activities in the area of military education for candidates for officers in the first and second cycle degree programmes, Officer Graduate Studies, Reserve Personnel Training Courses, training and professional development of junior officers in qualification and skills improvement courses for the needs of the Land Forces and the Territorial Defense Forces.

The activity of the Command Institute is inscribed in the strategic directions defined for AWL and in its main assumptions it consists in::
- shaping leadership skills and educating candidates for professional soldiers in Land Forces and Territorial Defense majors;;
- research on the concept of future wars and armed conflicts, which will allow cadets to be prepared to act as commanders and leaders in the conditions of modern armed conflict;
- modification of the training programmes to ensure that candidates for professional soldiers have not only the relevant expertise, but also the skills and leadership qualities, with the number of training hours necessary to enable them to study and acquire new knowledge, as well as promote their own personal development in accordance with individual interests.
TASKS OF THE COMMAND INSTITUTE
TASKS performed within the scope of teaching and scholarly activities:
- shaping leadership skills and educating candidates for professional soldiers in Land Forces and Territorial Defense majors;
- conducting research on the concept of future wars and armed conflicts, with a particular focus on the so-called concept of World War III, which enables excellent preparation of cadets to become commanders and leaders in the conditions of modern armed conflict;;
- conducting research on the issues of tactical level command and the role of leadership in command;
- planning, organising and conducting teaching activities in the field of military preparation of candidates for professional soldiers to assume the duties of the first officer;
- development of leadership and command skills, independence in making decisions and acting in difficult situations, initiative, mental resilience and creative thinking among cadets and students;
- cooperation with civil higher education institutions and military academies, as well as training centres within the scope of experience exchange in the field of planning, organisation and implementation of the teaching process and the use of teaching infrastructure;
- popularising research results, organising seminars, symposia and scientific and training conferences;
- cooperation with domestic and foreign educational institutions in the field of education, scientific development of the personnel, as well as the development of science and technological progresst;
- constant improvement of training programmes, forms and methods of teaching;
- improving the skills of the academic teachers of the Institute in terms of their vocational training and scientific development;
- preparing the teaching facilities tin accordance with the requirements of educational programmes.
