Graduated from the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences and completed a year-long officer commissioning course at the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wroclaw.
In military service since September 2004 as a tank platoon leader in the 10th Gen Stanisław Maczek Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów.
Killed on 14 August 2007 during a military action in Afghanistan, approx. 20 km southeast of the Gardez Base in the province of Paktika.
By decision of the President of the Republic of Poland, Second Lieutenant Łukasz KUROWSKI was posthumously awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Military Cross for his distinguished service during military operations, courage, and personal bravery and promoted to Lieutenant.

Lt Robert MARCZEWSKI
6th Air Assault Battalion

In military service since 19 June 2004 as the assault commander of the 6th Air Assault Battalion in Gliwice.
Starting from April 2008, he served as part of the 3rd-rotation mission of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan.
He was killed on 20 June 2008, approx. 40 km from the Wazi Khwa Base during a military operation when his patrol vehicle ran into an explosive charge of unknown origin. Participation in the 3rd rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan was the first mission of Second Lieutenant Robert Marczewski beyond Poland. He is survived by his wife and son.
Minister of National Defense Bogdan Klich posthumously promoted Second Lieutenant Robert Marczewski to Lieutenant and requested the President of Poland to award Robert Marczewski the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Military Cross.

Capt Daniel AMBROZIŃSKI
1st Battalion of the 25 th prince Józef Poniatowski Air Cavalry Brigade in Leźnica Wielka

Capt Born on 7 September 1977 in Skierniewice. Graduated from the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wroclaw and the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences. He completed numerous specialist courses, including the Ranger Course in Fort Benning GA USA in 2005 and the Mountain Summer Training Course in Andermatt, Switzerland.
He served in the 1st Battalion of the 25 th prince Józef Poniatowski Air Cavalry Brigade in Leźnica Wielka, where he became the chief of reconnaissance in August 2008.
He participated in the 6th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent in Iraq. In Afghanistan, he served as a specialist for the Advisory and Liaison Team. He was 32 years old. He is survived by his wife and daughter

Maj Krzysztof WOŹNIAK

On the night of 23 January 2013, Polish soldiers were assaulted while performing counter-terrorism actions. Capt Krzysztof Woźniak died as a result the wounds he received.
Capt Krzysztof Woźniak was married and had three children. In military service since 1996, including several missions outside Poland. An experienced soldier, serving in Afghanistan for the fourth time.
On 23 January 2013, the Minister of National Defense Bogdan Klich decided to promote Capt Krzysztof Woźniak, who had tragically lost his life in Afghanistan, to Major.
President Bronisław Komorowski posthumously awarded Major Krzysztof Woźniak with the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Military Cross.
