The Faculty’s motto is people – security – effectiveness. We consider it crucial to follow, both in our personal lives and professional careers, such values as honour, dignity and responsibility, which underlie the actions of our Faculty community as a whole. This corresponds to the philosophy that:

"Security is not everything, but without security, everything is nothing".

Security studies, as a relatively young branch of social sciences, explores the ways in which knowledge, both theoretical and practical, can be used to develop institutions which enshrine such values as security. Its implied interdisciplinary nature requires the application of specific research methods which take into account its systemic approach to this subject and field of study.
