Battlefield Damage Repair
The Battlefield Damage Repair Laboratory utilises advanced polymer technologies to repair mechanical damage which occurs when the equipment is operated under difficult field conditions simulating a battlefield. Advanced composites prevent erosion/corrosion, significantly shorten the time needed to upgrade military equipment and greatly reduce the costs of its repair. Polymer composites can be used to repair devices that are expensive and difficult to disassemble, such as internal combustion engine blocks installed in military vehicles used by the Polish Armed Forces. These materials can also be used to rebuild and seat bearings in housings with machining-free pin seating, as well as for regeneration techniques to reconstruct splines on shafts without disassembly. Elastomers are also used in the process of premature tyre failure in vehicles which operate under difficult, off-road conditions.
