6th International Scientific Media Conference "Decision-Making in Emergency Situations" already behind us

On 17 November 2021, 6th International Scientific Media Conference "Decision-Making in Emergency Situations" was held.
The conference was organised by the Faculty of Management of the AWL in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Management at the Wrocław University of Technology and the Institute of Economics at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław.

The conference was attended by 68 participants on campus and online, mainly from Poland, USA, Spain, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Brazil, Turkey, Peru and the Czech Republic.

The topics discussed during the conference included:
  • making decisions under risk and uncertainty, in particular, determinants and situational and organisational conditions in the decision-making process,
  • responses to cultural and terrorist threats in theory and practice, 
  • risk management in the decision-making process, 
  • reliability and continuity of provision of critical system services, 
  • legal and economical aspects of decision-making,
  • psychological aspects of decision-making,
  • social, ethical, and moral aspects of decision-making, 
  • risk arising from participation in hybrid wars and sub-threshold activities, 
  • risk during peacekeeping missions,
  • technical, social, and personal aspects of decision-making and the security of information in decision-making processes.
